How often do you run inspection trips?
Iberian International run inspection trips every week from the UK, Ireland, Norway and Sweden. These visits include accommodation in the Iberian International Hotel, all meals, transport, flights and courier service. The inspection trips are solely for those people who are travelling with the intention of viewing Iberian International's properties.
What can I expect from an inspection trip?
Iberian International organise subsidised inspection trips every week from the UK, Ireland, Norway and Sweden. Trips are for prospective buyers with a guarantee "No Pressure". We only ask that you are in a position to buy when you find the right property. These visits are designed to show you the area, the lifestyle and also the cost of full-time or part-time living in this wonderful part of the world.
How do I pay for my new place in the sun?
Iberian International act solely in the capacity of developers. The following outlines the method of payment for new properties (without mortgage).
- 10% deposit on reservation of the property
- €3,000 payable in Spain (holding deposit) balance of 10% to be paid within 14 days to UK Head Office in Leatherhead, Surrey
- 40% interim payment must be made within 30 days of the above
- 25% interim payment
- 25% balance of purchase price payable on completion.
Are there any additional costs?
We suggest as a guide that you budget for additional costs of approximately 11% of the purchase price of your Spanish home. This includes (approximately):
- 7% IVA (Spanish Transfer Tax)
- 4% Legal Services, i.e. including Notary Fees, Abodago (Solicitors Fee) and Water/Electricity set up taxes
- £275 Iberian International Administration Charges
- Additional charges for electricity & water meters
How much will I expect to pay annually for my Spanish home?
Annual costs for running a house or apartment in Spain are considerably lower than in the UK (approx £800-£1000 p.a. for a property). Costs vary according to the size of the property and how much it is in use. This includes:
- Estimated charge for water
- Estimated charge for electricity
- Local rates
- Community fees
- House and contents insurance
Do I have to use a Spanish solicitor?
Yes, you must use a Spanish solicitor as they will have full knowledge of Spanish laws and how the system operates. It is recommended that you find a solicitor that speaks good English and has excellent knowledge of the property market, in doing so this will make the transaction as stress-free and as easy as possible.
When I am living in Spain, how do I open a bank account?
If you purchase a place in the sun with Iberian International we will assist you in opening an account in Spain, at the bank of your choice.
Do you have resale properties?

Can I sell my existing Spanish home through Iberian International?
Yes, you can sell your Spanish home through Iberian International's resale office. They offer their services to anyone wanting to buy or sell existing Spanish homes. Can I rent my property through Iberian International?
Our Property Management team will act on your behalf should you wish to rent out your home in Spain. They will ensure that you are adequately protected and manage your place in the sun on your behalf.
